... contestants used to say, "I dream of world peace" and I would laugh in disbelief (and yes, I do watch Miss Universe every year - if only to ensure that I remain un-matched), but the truth is that world peace is actually an incredibly lovely idea.
It's not that I am always peaceful & caring person myself, it's not that I am always warm & thoughtful, it's not that I am always good & loving - but, lately I am so in love with world peace...and increasingly in love with myself, naturally.
In my reality, my happiness & gratitude is boundless, I can barely contain it - it's just that in my pursuit of being alive, I want to feel human enough to always remember that world peace is truly a worth cause to speak out for...

In our lifetime, I don't think world peace will be more than an ideal. too much competing interests and ugliness. for more pessimism, see my blog post, Dear Great Grandchildren, from about a month ago.
