medal standings after week 1...Norway, US, Russia, Germany, Canada still looking most dominant...and still no sign of Swazliland & Zimbabwe


Canada’s Dominique Maltais, left, Switzerland's Tanja Frieden, center, and the United States' Lindsey Jacobellis.

Jacobellis was about 5 seconds from winning the snowboard cross race, but fell on a landing (showboating or balance maneuvering is debatable) and while she recovered herself, Frieden snowboarded beautifully into 1^st place.
