abstract of the conference paper (work in progress)

Wall Street remains the symbol of world financial domination. The skyline glittering in gold against a darkened sky. Paranoia is a common phenomenon in the current world climate. Fears of terrorists and Islamists fills the airwaves. While it is essential and crucial to take all measures to thwart any form of terrorism, it should not distract Wall Street from its greatest security risk; “social engineering”. While cyber-terrorism requires advanced technical skills, social engineering requires little technical skills but advanced skills in malice. Social engineering can pose the greatest threat to Wall Street because sometimes technology cannot compare to malice.

In this paper we explore the inherent and structural vulnerabilities of Wall Street companies, and the possible steps in methodology of “hardening” the information security infrastructure of the glittering skyline of the Word’s Financial Capital
