the groups of the game

After many rounds of qualiying matches within their respective continents, a total of 32 countries from all over the world qualify to play in the actual World Cup

The countries are divided into 8 groups (A-H) within which they play against each other. From each group, the two top winners qualify to the next round, then the quarter finals, semi-finals, 3rd place, and the finals (of-course, we generally remember the winners :-} )

Each of the games will be played in different stadiums around Germany

Could it be they didn't qualify (Scotland, that is - see previous blog)? How can it be so? They managed to achieve a 3-1 defeat against Switzerland last night (at home in Glasgow) - clearly world class :-(
