O'Reilly's Sanity

On March 8, American TV show host, Bill O'Reilly of FoxNews, preached "sanity" on his radio show: "You know in a sane world, every country would unite against Iran and blow it off the face of the Earth. That would be the sane thing to do."

Wow - mass murder, the sane thing to do!

"Blow it off the face of the Earth"! Is this the example of democracy? Blowing up a country full of people just like you and me? And yet - this is the current climate amongst some...Conservatives... (dare I use the "C" word here :-0 )

What if a TV show host from a foreign country had said that about the US. So, replace "Iran" with "US" in O'Reilly's rant- and you would have had a massive condemnation (rightly so) and calls against the "terrorist" TV show host. Maybe even calls for another pre-emptive war?

As Cheryl croons, "good is good" - so true, but "bad" is relative. Blowing a country off the face of the Earth? I remain baffled as to how this has gone unchallenged by the "civilized" world.

Somehow, I don't think some simple Iranian family having dinner and discussing their children's future would subscribe to O'Reilly's laws civilized "sanity"
