Picturesque Monday ... this unforgettable Summer

as the summer ends and the Fall semester starts, i resume my professional life with deadlines and "to do" lists ... yes, yes - i can hear your collective sighs of symapthy for me ;-)

but before i begin even item 1 (of 291) of my "to do" list, i must reflect on the first half of this year leading to unforgettable my summer. there were a some raw days of disbelief, but then there were days that made me soar in complete happiness (how human). it changed something irretrievably for me, this unforgettable summer ... and i am so grateful to Life.

this summer has rendered me feeling more alive, more fearless, more relentless, more true to myself ... in my relentless pursuit of being alive ...

Angels of Heaven & Earth: memorial for the men and women of Pennsylvania Rail, who gave their lives during WWII (angel holding a fallen hero)

Intersection of Culture: an Amish buggy trying to make a left turn at an intersection ... do you see it? ;-)

Hello,
Glad to hear you had a wonderful summer and saw all sorts of wonderful things. I enjoyed being mostly unemployed for the first summer since I was 15 (teaching private music lessons 8 hours a week hardly counts as a job in my opinion).

I've never knit at a party before, but have knit at many family gatherings while socializing with relatives. I guess I have just never thought about taking my knitting to parties.

So is learning to knit one of your 291 things to do?

I must agree...This summer has been rather weird in all aspects of that word. I supposed we just gotta roll with the punches that life deals us.

SIGH

Candancimmm my dear Sister - i did look up your carrot recipe - it looks absolutely delectable and I wish I had some right now!

I don't know if I could find 5 glasses of pistachio and 3.5 glasses of walnuts or I would try to make some myself ...

Alright - look in the middle of the picture for the buggy. It is waiting patiently for the cars on both sides. For me it's a juxtaposition of cultures that caught my attention.

My dear sister - I have to finish up one of my items in the next few hours, so I must rsh, but huge hugs and kisses to you and hope your day is fantastic so far!

Nazli, whenever I read or write your name, I hear a song in my head sung by a Russian gypsy. It is a nice song, poetic and also a bit melancholic but full of life. One day I'll upload this song somewhere and you can download it and tell me what you think.
Anyway, that gypsy song also reminds me of summer, the warmth, dancing around a fire, listen to music and thereafter to the night...
It was a good summer in many ways. If we wouldn't have internet, radio, TV and newspapers ... it would have been perfect!

I love the contrasts of the images. They show what a diverse summer you've had. And the new profile pic is absolutely striking (as always)!

Zee - how beautiful that a song so full of life and so full of summer reminds you my name.

There are some things that touch me at certain times in my life - this is one of them ... that a free song full of life and warmth strikes a chord with my name ...

Wars make me melancholic, so do ordinary moments of uncertainty - but they pass because somewhere in my mind I hear some song that breaks through my heart.

Thank you Zee
