Right to Play

Right to Play is an organization headquartered in Toronto, whose mission is "to improve the lives of children in the most disadvantaged areas of the world by using the power of sport and play for development, health and peace. Their programs are currently implemented in Azerbaijan, Benin, Chad, Ethiopia, Ghana, Guinea, Israel, Liberia, Mali, Mozambique, Pakistan, Palestinian Territories, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Sudan, Tanzania, Thailand, Uganda, and Zambia. New projects in Sri Lanka and Indonesia will start later this year.


They have Olympian ambassadors from many countries.

In particular, Olympic Gold Medalist, Joey Cheeks of the US donated his bonus 25,000 winnings and raised $300,000 going to help refugee children in Chad and the Darfur region of Sudan

Clara Hughes of Canada donated $10,000 of her own money to Right to Play.
